Introduction

Hafa Adai! My name is Kimberly, but please call me Kim. I am a mother of two beautiful and smart children both are in elementary. I took a break from school to take care of my children. I was a stay at home my until both of them started school. So now that I have free time, I chose to continue with my education not only for myself, but for my children as well. I want to be able to give them the life I didn't have and to not struggle with anything as they grow up. I'm an outgoing person, but also reserved. But please don't take my quietness as a mean person. 😊

I am majoring in Elementary Education, hopefully with an emphasis in Special Education. I have to hold off on that because as of right now, coming from my advisor, I am the only one who signed up for the course. So I am hoping more will join in the future. I also worked for DOE for two years as a substitute teacher and loved it. I was able to take over all elementary grade levels, including SPED. That's where I was inspired to sign up for the course. For the past two years, I have been working double job and going to school. So yes, I was busy then. Being a mom, employee and a student is a lot of work. I was exhausted last semester, so I've decided to stick to one job and continue with school. That way I have more time to study and also spend more time with my kids. I hope everyone has a great semester. 😁

  1. Props to you in being a working mom and still pursuing your education! I myself just became a new working mom and this is my first semester going back to school with my daughter, who is now two months. Although it is harder now that we have children, we must continue on to better their future. :)

  2. Hi Kim. My name is Cindi Tingzon. I know how hard it is being a mom and full time student. It is really difficult. I can't imagine having a job to add to all the stress. I too wanted to emphasis in special education. I enjoyed interacting with the hearing impaired. Hope all works out in the end. :) Goodluck!

  3. Hafa Adai Kimberly!

Nice to meet you. I honestly admire mothers just like you that do it all from juggling school, work, motherhood and still being able to have a life. The one thing i want most out of life other than getting my degree is to start a family and i can hope one day that both will come true just as how you are working hard to make yourself and your family remain happy and stable. Stick through and you'll get to where you want to be. -Javil Manglona
